As I mentioned in my last post I was watching the Karate Kid - well it just finished and I still get a bit teary - that whole crane pose at the end is always so powerful!!! Plus the whole wax on, wax off thing just makes me laugh!
Also just finished reserving our plane tickets to go to Saipan in the Northern Marianas Islands for Thanksgiving - it's north of Guam AND also a US territory - plus it has year round temperatures of 84 degrees! Plus the thought of not having to make a turkey is intriguing!

I looked Saipan up on Wiki. Pretty cool. You are in luck. Taro root is indigenous to the area. Fried poi!
Oh you know that was what we were going for!!! ICK But it's nice to have a trip planned since I can't imagine Thanksgiving is the same in Japan!
